Marriage Intentions Filing Fee: $25.00 Bride and Groom must
jointly file marriage intentions in person with the city or town clerk in any
community in the State. There is a 3-day waiting period from the date of
application before a license may be issued. While Sundays and Holidays are
included in the three days, the day the application is filed is not. A court
waiver of the three day waiting period may be obtained from a probate or
district court. State law has changed and there is no longer
a requirement for pre-marital blood
Marriage licenses are valid for 60 days from the date intentions are filed.
Business Certificates All businesses other than individuals and corporations doing business in their own or corporate name must file a business certificate. Prior to coming to the City Clerk’s Office, business owners must first visit the Office of the Building Commissioner to obtain permission to operate their business at their specific location. Business Certificates (or D/B/A Certificates) do not constitute permission to do business - it is merely filing of a business name, (if not a corporation), as required by State Law. Filing Fee: $35.00 (Renewable every four years)
Dog
Fees: Male Dogs $15.00 Female Dogs $15.00 Neutered Male Dogs $ 9.00 Spayed Female Dogs $ 9.00 All dogs
must be licensed every year.
A current rabies
certificate must be provided as well as proof of spaying or neutering, unless
previously licensed. Dogs may be licensed by mail by forwarding the appropriate
fee, certificate(s) and stamped self-addressed envelope to the City Clerk's
