FITCHBURG CENTRAL STEAM PLANT

BROWNFIELDS CLEAN-UP PROJECT

COMMUNITY MEETING

and

CONSERVATION COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

The City of Fitchburg received a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to conduct environmental clean up at the Central Steam Plant, located at 465 Westminster Street in Fitchburg. Federal Community Development Block Grant funds will be used to supplement the cost of this project.

A community meeting/public hearing will be held before the Conservation Commission to discuss the proposed scope of work at the Central Steam Plant and the Alternatives to Brownfields Clean Up Alternatives (ABCA). The public hearing is on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 6:00p.m. in the Veterans Room, First Floor City Hall, 718 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA. 01420. The proposed scope of work and the ABCA are on file at the Community Development Office, 718 Main Street, Fitchburg, MA. 01420 and may be examined or copied, Monday through Friday, 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m. Verbal and written comments on the proposed clean up project and the ABCA will be accepted for thirty days from the date of this notice, or up through April 27, 2010, whichever is later.
